I’ve been tearing through episodes of Mad Men to get ready for the season premiere and for sure one of the things I appreciate about that show is seeing what Donnie Draper’s creative team draws up for their pitches to clients. Vintage European Posters out of Berkeley has a massive collection of overseas posters from that era and before, and I can say that seeing them blown-up and firsthand is even more impressive. My favorite has to be the travel section – there was such a romantic appeal to flying before it became so commonplace.

Two years after the collaboration between Julian Casablancas, Santogold and Pharrell, Converse has once again shown the world who is running the show. This time around it’s Kid Cudi, Best Coast and Vampire Weekend – armed with a free MP3 and mini-docs showcasing each artist’s creative input and inspiration. Such a stellar campaign, I hope they don’t take another two years to keep this series going.

I’m super diggin’ Heineken’s new Camouflage campaign. It’s doubtful I’d rush over and buy a six-pack but I appreciate the nod to cleverness. More samples on Fubiz.

Brilliant piece of advertising found on this French blog, Paperplane. If you’re obsessed with clever, “holy crap, that’s so smart” advertising, then bookmark this action now.

We’ve already got iCal, Google Calendar and Outlook, so why not a massive, real-life calendar? The ad aimed for the expression that, if you wear Axe, a new female can be met on a daily basis. Oh sure, and unicorns live up my ass. [via direct daily]

I’m getting Helvetica-esque excited to screen Art & Copy tomorrow night. It’s a powerful new film about advertising and inspiration, two things I’m fascinated / borderline obsessed with. Plus, Doug Prey’s resume is all aces (Scratch, Surfwise, Hype!). Tickets available here, seriously, you don’t want to miss this!

Unlike the season finale of LOST, this FedEx ad is open to interpretation in an acceptable way. Without any distracting copy, it successfully tells an interesting story while tugging at the heartstrings. If this mural was up in my neighborhood, I would use huge push pins to plot my path of total travel domination. My next destination? Some place where mailboxes don’t exist. [via inspire me now]

Ford asked us to recreate MTV Cribs but with our new Fiesta. They gave us 1 day to make this so we grabbed Creative Casualties, a 12-pack of Tecate and snuck into some rich dude’s driveway in La Jolla. Here’s the result…

We’re so pumped for this Friday’s Joel P West show we even made a 60-second radio spot that’s currently blasting the airwaves. Fear not if you don’t live in San Diego or can’t stand traditional radio (like us), you’re in luck, we posted the audio below! There are still a few tickets left but hurry!

I’m really diggin’ this music-laced campaign by Tommy Hilfiger Denim. I doubt I’d buy their jeans but I’m loving the balance of blue jeans, alternative rock and flashy media. Nice!
