Every now and then we benefit from seeing reminders that open our eyes to why we’re working so hard. It can be song lyrics, a Pecha Kucha presentation or a badass piece of art. For the professional dreamer in me, it was this line from an inspiring wall sticker, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” So true. Check out more designs at Mm.

It’s true, vintage furniture is so hot even Crate and Barrel is getting in on the trend. There’s no denying this desk is hot shit and you will look cooler than Cool Hand Luke while sitting behind it, but unless you sell your car, laptop and ditch the health insurance, you’re probably like me and can’t afford it. Oh well, maybe we should have a furniture party and make it ourselves? [via CM]

MSW are renowned for their lighting design and this tower installation in Vienna shows an unprecedented example of the architectural relevance of video. The visual twists and turns consist of line and framework constellations that interpret the building by running in various directions, gauges and forms. Amazing work but I’d hate to see the utility bill.

They sure don’t seem comfy but damn they look cool. From Edwards Moore Architects, these rustic bar stools are formed from reclaimed timber off-cuts. [via YMFM]

I’ve never liked the taste of black or green tea but after seeing this absolutely stunning product design for LemonAid Beverages, I’m ready to drink up. Another bonus, the bottle incorporates silk-screened design instead of labels. So rad!

New York-based design studio Mogollon knows how to combine two into one with these nice mash-ups. The graphics work in sync with the models’ poses to make really neat visuals and their other works aren’t so bad either. In fact, they’re quite dreamy. Just check out this Madonna cover art! I met Ron Miriello because of his respect of good design. It’s true, I had been surfing a blog that highlights agencies around the world and was immediately drawn to the photographs of Miriello Grafico, later in shock to find out it was right in my backyard (San Diego). Ron’s loyal attention to detail and design is one of the many reasons I admire the man. He’s a wealth of creative inspiration and if you don’t believe me, check out this great, new video by Breadtruck Films, which offers a peek inside his Barrio Logan agency.

Mig Reyes is a graphic designer from Chicago trying to make nice things for nice people. That’s the first line on his portfolio page and quite frankly, that’s all I needed. Anyone who throws down awesome design for awesome people…well, I’m all for it. Plus, his work is badass. That’s right, bad-ass! The world needs more Mig.

To say we’re enormous fans of San Diego artist Jocelyn Duke is an understatement. When we teamed up with Furni to release the Freelancer Notepads we knew we had to let Jocelyn have her way with one. And have her way she did. Check out the images below but for all the glory, we’ll be displaying the entire notepad at our pop-up shop next Wednesday. Plus, we’ll soon be debuting a super new product that we collaborated with Jocelyn on. It drops at Renegade Craft Fair so come up to LA and get in on the action. It’s hot. (Click any of the images below to see more collaborations in our Freelancer series).
